Summary
I wrote the first half of this for a Holmesistice, then left poor Watson on the platform at Eastbourne for a whole year before I finished it. However, I finally did and I was happy enough with the result that I thought I should dig it up and post it here. Besides, this strikes me as an appropriate time for it. I hope you enjoy.
