I wanted to find a way to get some high-Shane-post-concussion-hospital-magic in a story, and what better way to do that than a nice little wisdom tooth extraction.
When the opportunity presents itself, Ilya ditches the MLH awards weekend in Vegas to fly out to Ottawa so he can help Shane through his dental surgery. Shane says too much, naturally, and the boys end up sharing a whirlwind twenty-four hours that will change their futures in the most wonderful way.
Because of some chompers, tuna-meldown never needed to happen.
"Ilya regretted not checking his carry-on—while totally unnecessary, it would have bought him an extra twenty minutes of staring at a spinning carousel before he had to face his impulsive offer to comfort the man he was used to pounding his dick into. Instead, he had about a fifteen minute walk to reconcile how after seven years of the same shit, he was about to become the man who could maybe offer more than just nine inches and an orgasm. He was sure to walk slowly, knowing damn well that the slower he walked, the quicker Shane’s mind would spiral. If he walked any slower, he’d miss the surgery altogether."

Grayson - because he will not call him Dick thank you very much - currently looks so far away from being put together that he and Agent Grayson could be two entirely separate people. He honestly looks like he's very close to tearing out his own hair or doing the very old and valued tradition of making his head meet his desk close up.
He shoots a look at Diana, who is sending her own looks, and at Neal, who isn’t even bothering to pretend that he isn’t watching. That does mean they all notice when Grayson suddenly goes very, very still and quiet and they watch with undisguised rapt attention - even Peter, which Clinton only now notices - and wondering what's going to happen next.
Their wait is worth it however because what happens next is, one, that Grayson has probably forgotten that he is in public and two, that he's been trying to stay quiet. He can only guess at that though but no one misses it when he suddenly says, at full volume and with nothing but pure horror coating his voice, “What do you mean he unstole his car?”
