There was a joy in losing oneself to the puzzle of creating. To forget one’s fears and struggles and, for one shining moment, be focused entirely on the twist and fold of metal was a balm to the centuries of Hornet’s existence.
Even now, in Pharloom at the end of the world, Hornet created. Perched upon a bench within the Citadel, hidden well away from the void roaming the Citadel in search of something living or Pale to consume, she spun Silk and shards together into the form of her faithful cogflies.
Or: the Second Sentinel needs repair. A friend in need is a friend indeed.

Summary
The multiverse is infinite, but there is ever and always only one Blurr-- alive, anyway. He lives, he dies, he remembers all his past lives, and he is extremely tired.
IDW-1 gave him hope that maybe, maybe, that loop would be the last.
Then he woke up in TFA.
Blurr decides to just-- just take this life off from caring. Sure, there's a load of lethal narrative coming for him eventually, there always is (there's a red-or-yellow speedster he'll have to show up, and probably a sacrifice play to make, a dramatic death that might be heroic or messy or both), but until then he's just going to let events shove him where they want him and privately grieve. He'll be more of a person, he promises himself, in the next life.
But this life does have a few surprises for him.
(Based on a Keferon AU, but you shouldn't need to be familiar with it to understand the fic.)
