Shane opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out. Suddenly his throat felt dry and all the things he'd felt back in Boston came crushing back. How he'd felt so cared for and precious in Ilya's arms. Even if it had been for just one evening.
He wanted to return to those moments, but Rose's hand on the small of his back was a firm reminder of why he couldn't. It was too dangerous, Shane could lose his career, his friends and family. All was good now. His friends seemed to get along with Rose. Everything was going to be fine.
Still, he wanted nothing more than to feel the thrill that ran through him every time he let Rozanov touch him. He craved the feeling of uncertainty. The rush of doing something forbidden but still knowing that Rozanov would take care of him. That even lost in the haze of pleasure, he was safe.
