Nie MingJue wakes up. And that doesn't make sense, because he knows he died.
Aka: After everything is said and done, Nie MingJue gets brought back Wei WuXian-style and tries to figure out just what on earth happened in the meantime. In the process he also reunites with his brother, drags Lan XiChen out of seclusion, becomes drinking buddies with Wei WuXian, learns about Jin GuangYao's downfall, meets the next generation, and features (not always intentionally) in a number of reconciliations.

Summary
Wei Wuxian dresses as a mysterious storyteller to recount a tale about Hanguang-Jun to the kids in Caiyi Town while the members of his family, more or less inconspicuously, sneak up to listen.
Or; Wei Wuxian lets some ghosts possess his body, Jiang Cheng misses his brother, Lan Sizhui and Lan Jingyi convince Wen Ning to help them evade from the Cloud Recesses, and everybody loves Hanguang-Jun.

“Pffffff- ahahahAHAHA!” The kid curled up, resting one hand on his stomach while he used the other to smack at Lan Wangji’s shoulders. “That was close!” he giggled.
Lan Wangji was starting to think he’d been saved by a madman.
“... Thank you.” He bowed as best he could while seated and prepared to make his way down.
“Wait wait wait!” The kid grabbed at his sleeve before he could shift away. “If you go down like that, you’re just gonna get caught, y’know!”
Lan Wangji looked down at himself and back at the kid, raising an eyebrow.
The kid propped himself up on his elbows and gave him a blatant once-over, obviously holding back laughter. “You’re wearin’ all white, genius. Even if you scuff it up a bit and take off the girly ribbon--” Lan Wangji scowled reflexively-- “no one around here wears stuff that nice.”
Lan Wangji had to admit he had a point.

Summary
Yu Ziyuan receives a warning, a letter in Jiang Cheng’s handwriting, familiar, though it seems to have evened out over long years of practice. This was from her child, but not. This Jiang Cheng, grown up in ways that it hurt to contemplate, had endured the death of his family, his Sect, and his soul.
He begs her to change things, to not let the same tragedies befall him again.
(Yu Ziyuan would always do anything for her son. This time, she fixes the world)
Nie Huaisang receives a blank scroll, and a handpainted fan in Qinghe Nie green, taunting him. Lan Xichen gets a Xiao score that all but shatters his heart.
(They may have failed once. They will not fail again.)
