Summary
Will Darling woke up in a museum. An actual, sodding museum. Never mind that the house was now occupied by three small boys, their formidable mother, and a grandfather who was at turns sadly diminished by the travails of recent months and strangely rejuvenated by those same circumstances. Homeclere was a great barrack of a house with oil paintings, precious vases, rare furniture, and about forty persons engaged in cleaning, dusting, and otherwise servicing the needs of the establishment. A sodding museum.

Summary
Major Hugo Darracott, heir to the Darracott honours, lands and title, sipped his brandy and stretched his long legs under the dining table. “I won’t say I’m well pleased with how long it’s taking to set the Dower House to rights.” He glanced at his grandfather, Lord Darracott of Darracott Place, deep in conversation with his cousin Vincent at the head of the table. “But finding another builder at this late stage will just mean pushing the wedding date back again, and I’ll not be the one to tell Anthea she’s to re-write the invitation cards again!"

Tony squinted and altered his stance a bit. His face was close enough that Kate could feel his warm breath on her skin. "Go ahead," he said through gritted teeth. "Make my day."
"Tony, will you quit it already?" Kate elbowed him away and checked her watch.
