Summary
Iris and Sasha have suffered a bit of an accident while being on the run from their home. Thankfully they stumble upon a helpful fox kin. But as Sasha quickly finds out, the woman's help may come at a cost that's dear to her. The demi-human appears to only have eyes for her fiancée and wishes to steal her beloved right from under her nose.

Occasionally as Caitlyn got closer to the square she would see humans in what amounted to rags sleeping on whatever they could find. With some of them she didn’t even know if they were asleep or dead. Rats would be a good word to describe them in Caitlyn's head. Dirty little animals sleeping in the filth that crawled out of holes to work and die. However the nation needed them, so Caitlyn had no choice but to see them scurrying around.
Slowing her horse to a trot she entered the city square seeing the charred remains still chained to a metal pole, a pile of ash beneath it. The whole thing was a much more ghastly scene than what she had expected. The former governor's family lay nearby all having been stabbed in the heart with a stake, their bodies unceremoniously dumped into a disrespectful pile. The stench of stale blood filled the air, causing Caitlyn to cover her nose in disgust.Warning: Dark Fic, you have been warned and will be warned more.
