“Listen-”
“No, you listen here, Techno.” Dream whirls around and strides as close as he can to the pig-brained excuse of a man. Of course, “as close as he can” ends up being about six feet, because the shackle starts buzzing warningly once he steps any closer.
“When I called in that favor, I asked you specifically to get me out of prison. And guess where I am right now?”
Technoblade eyes him warily, as if it was a trick question. “Where?”
“Not out of prison, you idiot.”
“Okay, but technically-”
“You haven’t repaid my favor. You failed at the one thing I asked from you.”
Technoblade rolls his eyes. “Dream, calm down. It’s a work in progress, okay? I’ll get you out.”
“And how do you plan on doing that?”
Technoblade opens and closes his mouth. He opens it again. “Like I said, it’s a work in progress.”
Dream groans.
In an elaborate, obviously-well-thought-out plan to bust Dream out from Pandora’s vault, Technoblade signs up to be his parole officer.

“I know you’re there.”
No answer. Technoblade narrows his eyes, trying to pinpoint the exact location.
A quiet step. There.
He tosses up the dagger in his hand, catches it, and hurls it at that spot in the brush, hearing it hit solid wood instead. Okay, now he has a good idea of who it is. Reflexes that fast remind him of a certain championship many moons ago, of being just a few meters behind the heels of a figure that barely shifted the grass as he ran.
“You missed that,” Dream says from behind him.
Post-Wilbur-going-insane, pre-festival. Dream and Technoblade have a conversation.

Summary
Because Technoblade has a turmoil of thoughts and emotions bottled up in him, ones that he could never really bring himself to say. Ones that he can’t put into words if he had a hundred years, much less a single moment.
“I was peer pressured,” is what he ends up saying.
