“What are you doing here?” he asks when it becomes clear that Chris is too shocked to speak, and despite the delicious nectar of the gods he’s drinking, nothing can fully take away his irritation at the man in front of him.
The last time he’d seen Chris, he’d jumped down his throat about the whole Celina situation, and Tim is still just a tiny bit salty about it.
“Uh… what are you doing here?” Chris answers, and then his eyes flicker down Tim’s body and Tim has to admit that his presence and his current state of undress at Lucy’s apartment at six in the morning are rather damning. He’s barefoot, wearing only a pair of sweatpants that are hanging low on his hips. His chest is bare, his normally perfect hair a mess, and he knows for a fact that he’s at least half hard in his pants (without boxer briefs to help hide it) because he’s been thinking about Lucy all morning.
OR
Chris shows up at Lucy’s apartment. Tim answers the door.

“Lucy,” he murmurs, and her sniffles turn to outright sobs. Tim holds her closer, like she did for him after he visited his father, and runs his fingers through her hair. “What’s wrong? You’re scaring me, Lucy. Are you OK? Are you… are you sick, or something?”
Lucy makes a desperate noise and shakes her head, and then she’s pulling back and shoving something into his hands. Tim glances between it and her eyes, swollen and moist with tears, and he doesn’t know how to explain what he’s feeling when his brain registers what he’s holding.
A pregnancy test.
No, more than that.
A positive pregnancy test.

Summary
A mix of hot and iced coffees, the largest size the shop sells, come crashing down on her, and by the time the last cup clatters to the floor, rolls to her feet, and falls silent, the entire coffee shop is staring at them in horror.
“Oh… my… god,” Jackson whispers, and Lucy can feel tears prickling at the corners of her eyes.
She wants to yell at the man in front of her (the insanely attractive man, who is a cop, it seems, from the uniform), but she can’t find or form words (and it’s only partially because she’s lost in his sea blue eyes).
Instead she just stands there, dripping coffee and almost crying, staring at the man who had first held up the line by ordering seven freaking coffees, and then had spilled them all over her.
“Fuck you,” is what she comes up with, in the end.
It’s not her finest moment.
