    Summary

Tim got used to it. The organized chaos. The chirping and cooing and occasional feathers in his coffee. The flock of doves following him around and nesting in his drawers. The murder of crows bringing him shiny trinkets and stealing his pens. It became his normal.

For over a year and some change, the Nest felt full. Lively. Predictable, even.

Until the day he came home from patrol, coffee in one hand, data chip in the other…

…and found a raven sitting on his desk.

Just—there. Like he owned the place.

    Staring.

    Silent.

    Still.

    Like a ghost.

And Tim—Tim just blinked and said, "Okay. That's new."

    Summary

“It was a kid,” Yagi gasped out. He had his hand balled up into a fist and the fist pressed to his lips, as if to remind himself that he could not start screaming. “Or. Young person, maybe 20. Homeless, I think. Activated their Quirk on reflex and then ran. The kids—” Here, he pressed his fist harder to his mouth, sucked in a wheezing breath, as if the air itself was pushing down something with physical weight. “The kids—”

“Scattered immediately,” Aizawa finished for him, and Yagi managed a nod.

Yagi’s eyes were so dilated that the blue was almost invisible. He shook violently. He looked like a scarecrow in a windstorm.

Someone activated a Fear-Inducer Quirk so powerful that it reduced All Might to this— of course Aizawa’s class had bolted.

    Or:

A Fear Gas fic, BNHA style.

    Summary

At the end of it all, it's the two of them.

"So what do you wanna do now?" Scar asks as he walks next to him, swinging his arms in a manner that betrays the true nature of their situation.

Jimmy doesn't reply. It feels like too many words, more than they have left now, to reveal that the true reason why he has nothing to say is because he never thought he would get here.

    Here, being alive.

or; Scar and Jimmy being the final two, and an exploration of the different ways it could go.

    Summary

The beauty of it is not the surprising part. It's not even that he spent the better part of the day eating dirt or leaves or shovels. No, the strangest thing on the mountain is the people. The strangest thing about them is that they're there at all. With Scar. On purpose.

He can't quite figure it out. The why of it. Jimmy had made it look so easy to say he would stay, like he couldn't think of a million reasons not to. And then Lizzie, who he had invited, and then still been surprised to see her there when he got back. They do it without obligation. Scar had almost forgotten what that felt like.

    Summary

What if Voldemort went after Harry and Neville, and gave no one a chance to die for them? What if both Chosen Ones died as children?
    --
There was no prophesied boy, but there was still this--dozens of shadowed young faces refusing to run, even at the very end of the world. Dumbledore looked out at his chess pieces, pawns and queens; his children and his friends; his collateral damage. He had the beginnings of a plan swelling in his chest.

It would take them decades to get their hands, quietly, on every Horcrux. Tom Riddle had to think they were secret. He had to think he was safe. It would take them almost decades, but one day he would be mortal again.

These dozens of faces--they were mortal now. Alastor Moody could feel mortality in the aches of old broken bones; Andromeda rewrote her own last name. Remus and Sirius felt empty, gaping holes in the seats around them, and they made crude, expansive, joyous toasts to friends' memories.

When Molly first reached over and held Arthur's hand, they knew this was something that could not last. That was why they held hands, held on, held tight.
