“Really? I’m that valuable?” You feel his smirk on the back of your neck as he bends down to nose along the side of your shoulder, where the mark he gave you a while ago still sits.
“If you weren’t, I would have devoured your soul months ago....” He places a brief kiss on the mark.
“That being said….”
His tail uncurls from your legs, slithering between them and parting them instead. “I still very much would love to devour you…in other ways.”
Almost subconsciously, your legs widen to let the bony end of his tail tease your inner thighs.
“What do you think, my sorceress? It’s the perfect….activity….for a rainy day.”

'Where the Wild Things Are.'
You both loved this book. He’d read many different books to you a multitude of times, but something about this one was comforting. You often joked that the little boy in the book reminded you of him. He’d laugh back, saying he was more like the wild things. You shook your head in disagreement. Your Caleb wasn't a monster.
Wrapping his arm around you, he quietly read the few words across the big page, as your eyes slowly closed. He smelled really good, and his embrace was comforting. He felt like the strongest shield that protected from all the thunderstorms that plagued your life.
You hoped it would always be that way.
