Wordlessly, Evy looks back over at Jonathan and Ardeth.
“If you think about it, I'm doing them a favour. Jewellery never looks quite right on dead people,” Jonathan is saying, flicking his wrist in comic disdain. A drop of whisky lurches forcefully from his glass and lands on Ardeth’s thigh, and Jonathan leans forward to pat it dry with his jacket sleeve. “Terribly sorry, old boy. I get a bit animated after a finger or two of the good stuff.”
Ardeth’s eyes are very, very wide indeed.
“Jesus, you’re right,” says Rick.
After 20 years of being subjected to more yearning than any sister should ever have to witness, Evy decides that enough's enough.

Summary
After an attack on Prince Poe Dameron's life, he is swiftly appointed a bodyguard to ensure his safety whether he appreciates the sentiment or not. Finn, still a new member to The Royal Guard, just wants to protect people. Slowly, awkwardly, defiantly, a bond grows between the two men that is neither professional nor ethical and makes the threats on the Prince’s life that much more horrifying.
Or the royalty/bodyguard/modern AU fic that no one asked for but we all deserved.

He wants to say, yes I would, but with Poe looking up at him the words die on his lips.

Summary
The last thing the Resistance thought they were getting in Finn was a decent chef, but Finn’s been cooking for his squad since he was small. He doesn’t mind cooking for his new friends — especially since Resistance cuisine is pretty damn awful. There's also the fact that Finn never really had a place to fit in when he was a Stormtrooper, and his journey to finding a place to fit with the Resistance.
Or alternatively — five times Finn cooked for other people, and one time other people cooked for him.
