Summary
Phainon gets his letter of admission in Chrysos Academy with merit-based scholarship tuition, on one bright autumn day.
It is time for harvesting their wheat, everything is so hot and so dry and lots of pollen flying around, it itches his skin and yet he stands dumbly when the mailman, another neighbour of his family, congratulates their parents on their son’s achievement.
The other villagers look up from what they’re doing on their field as they try to watch a commotion, and congratulate them after they pass around the information.
(Or, 15 year-old Phainon moves to Okhema in order to continue his studies)
