Even if Shouto's left side is weaker due to his fuckwad of a father, he's almost certain that being in close proximity with Bakugou Katsuki shouldn't cause him this much loss of Quirk control.
Maybe it's not just the nitro-sweat at work but, he suspects, his ~feelings~, too.
Or, alternatively: Emotionally stifled idiots just want to love each other, but Shouto makes it too easy and Katsuki makes it too difficult. Frequent cameos by flustered spontaneous combustion, unfortunate innuendos, and creative name-calling for all things half-red and half-hot.

The way Todoroki’s gaze was fixed on him made Katsuki feel like he was prey — like he had been cornered by a wild predator who had been hunting him for hours. And now, all that was left to decide was how to land the fatal blow.
Katsuki felt his heartbeat pick up in his chest and goosebumps spread all over his skin when Todoroki started sprinting straight at him, right towards where he was innocently slouching on the couch.

He barely felt the impact.
His mind was too busy playing catch up. His eyes slowly trailed downwards, and he found himself being pinned to the soft sofa-cushions by a heavily panting Todoroki.
