    There’s a sliver of light. There always is. At the end of the tunnel, as they say, and Jane believed it. All his life he has been chasing that glimmer of light, that sparkle of hope. There is always a sliver lightning, always peace after the storm. Jane thought that loving P’Jane would be standing under the clouds forever, to let the thunder growl around him and lightning strike him where he stood. To be enclosed in darkness, shrouded in mystery until it asphyxiated him like a noose. Secrecy shutting every last chance of finding that light.
    It is in the middle of the night, after finding himself next to a hospital bed again, that Jane stands alone, on the other side of the house and realizes at the sight of that very same glimmer: maybe P’Jane was waiting on the other side. Maybe that’s why Jane kept chasing it.
    Or: a rewrite of that last scene from episode 8
