    Nico woke up, and he knew.

     

    The second he opened his eyes, he could sense the aura of darkness in him, the call of the Underworld growing with every passing second. His bones were heavy, and if he focused, he could see little bits of shadow curling off of his skin like smoke.

     

    He’d seen this before, on others, who usually didn’t understand what it was or didn’t even notice.

     

    But Nico knew exactly what was happening to him.

     

    Today was the day he would die.
