Summary
What makes a hero?
MK thought he knew.
A hero, to him, was someone who protected everyone. They put the world before themselves. They're the most selfless, kindhearted people you'll ever meet, saving innocent lives and sparing those that cross them.
But when a new threat rises, MK learns a harsh truth. Not every hero wins the day, and not everyone could be saved. Even the strongest falter, and the brightest lights often cast the darkest shadows.
And yet, not everything is lost. From honing strange new senses to wrangling newborn cubs, MK had grown into his life as a monkey demon, meeting others of his kind and learning their culture. He’s discovered something worth fighting for. These were his people, and this was his home.
But with that discovery comes a harsher lesson. To protect what’s most precious, you must sacrifice your morals. Sometimes, you can’t even protect yourself.
So when clouds gathered over Flower Fruit Mountain, and snow fell far too early, MK knew his world was about to change again.

Summary
It was raining outside. Approximately at two am in the morning with a possible thunder going around in the corner.
But that wasn’t why Macaque woke up in the middle of the night listening to the sound of a storm stirring up in the dark sky. Quite the contrary, this kind of weather is the best one to sleep on while being tucked inside a warm blanket knowing you are safe inside your warm room.
It was Sun Wukong.

Summary
Anyone can tell you that every pair of siblings has their differences and similarities. Some siblings are so similar that they’re twins, while others have few similarities and a lot of differences, but the one thing everyone can collectively agree on is that siblings always share at least one phobia; it doesn't matter how different they are, they always share at least one, and it’s usually the one that the firstborn is the most afraid of.
When it comes to his little sister, however…MK would have to disagree.Bookmarked by Vignirek

Summary
The island was usually a vibrant hub of activity and boisterous laughter, felt heavy. Wukong, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, king of the monkeys, sat atop his favorite peak, not with his usual confident swagger, but with slumped shoulders and a furrowed brow. The sun warmed his fur, but it couldn't chase away the chill of endless worries that clung to him like mist.
Being the Monkey King was amazing, most of the time. There were adventures, delicious fruits, loyal subjects, and the best naps under the sun.
But there were also decisions, responsibilities, remembering where he put that important scroll, and the general thinking that came with running a kingdom, even a lively one like the Flower Fruit Mountain. Lately, the thinking felt like a swarm of buzzing insects in his head, relentless and tiring.

Summary
The afternoon sun beamed down on the trio. MK sat cross-legged, attentively watching Wukong and beside him was Macaque. They were enjoying a quiet moment, a rare treat in their adventurous lives.
“So, Macaque,” MK began, scratching his head, “Monkey King was telling me about how you can hypnotize people. He said it wasn’t mind control, but something different. How does that work?”
Macaque purred softly, a low rumble in his chest. He looked at MK with warm, golden eyes, a stark contrast to the shadows that usually clung to him. “Ah, yes. True hypnosis is very different from mind control and what TV might tell you. Let me show you and explain the difference.”
