Anne’s hand made a desperate last bid for freedom, only to woefully twitch in the directions of Sasha’s ruby-red heron sword.
Cut short and indistinguishable, attempts to speak were clogged by the overwhelming amount of blood filling her mouth, slowly but surely drowning her.
Her golden sword became covered in a sheen of dark crimson as it clattered to the ground.
This wasn’t a game; it was reality, in the flesh. Anne was right about that. And regardless, the blonde had won.
So why did Sasha feel this way?

Footsteps approached his cell, they had to be her's. The King's steps were much heavier, but the ones he was hearing were light as a mouse. The presumed Anne stopped in front of his cell, "Hey dude, I–"
"Not hungry." Sprig replied before the question was even asked.
Anne sighed, sliding the food under his cell door, "Listen, you're probably mad, but–"
"Yeah, I'm mad." Sprig interrupted, turning to face the human, his eyes began to water, "You let Andrias out! He tried to kill Polly! And on top of that, he almost killed me! Why?" He yelled, "Why are you working with him? Don't lie to me! I know you are."
Anne banged her hand on the bars, as she glared at him with her eyes changing from their natural brown to a bright blue, startling the young frog, "Don't raise your voice at me." She said in a deadly whisper, "I hope you haven't forgotten which one of us is behind bars."

Anne, Sasha, and Marcy liked to meet up at the top of a big, grassy hill. It was a nice spot, a bit secluded from everything else, with a big tree to shade them when it was sunny out and a great view of the horizon. They met once or twice a month, whenever they all had time.
They'd sit and talk for hours about everything and nothing, updating each other on random school gossip and the shows they were watching and all the little things they were excited for.
For the few short hours they were together, they could pretend they were still whole.
