Mydei yanked him forward in one powerful, fluid motion. Phainon lost his balance and, with a short, panicked cry, tumbled right onto Mydei's lap, trapped in his strong arms.
Mydeimos leaned close to his ear, his voice a low growl, but it was laced with entirely new, unfamiliar notes - a mixture of disbelief, wild, almost hysterical tenderness, and colossal exasperation.
"Deliverer, I swear by all the titans, you will be the death of me."
Prince Mydeimos is tired. Tired of battles, tired of his curse, but most of all, tired of the Deliverer who runs from his kisses time and time again.
