How is he supposed to help them when people hide the unsightly and bloodstained parts from him?
The tip of Jinhsi’s blade presses more firmly to the center of Scar's mark, clearly about to push through the indicated line. He appreciates the symbolism if nothing else.
A loud crackle of energy startles them both. Out of nowhere, a gloved hand grabs the blade and pushes it away from Scar before it can do any real damage. It stays wrapped around it, uncaring of the sharp edges digging into it and drawing blood.

Steve’s pulse goes into overdrive. “Max, what’s wrong? I can get Hopper- ”
“No!” she cuts him off, talking fast. “No cops. There’s no time and, and…it’s so cold out there and—and there’s just no time okay? You have to trust me. Please. You know the road I live on? I need you to come here now, but DO NOT stop at the house, just keep driving past it, but come as fast as you can and…” she hesitates “And—you’ll know when you see. You’ll understand.”
