“I don’t count myself out,” Kevin retorted. “I actively chose not to be a part of that life. I chose to stay. And I don’t regret it,” he hurried to add. “Everything we’ve built together was everything I ever wanted.” He gestured around the room, all of the awards and photos of various musicians he had worked with throughout the years.
“I would never give this up,” he said. “I got exactly what I wanted.”
Neil’s lips twisted to the side, as if he was holding back words from spilling out. “That should be part of the bridge,” he said finally.
