Summary
Kyoshi nods, silently trying to get her beating heart under control. “Somewhere we can be truly alone.” Her gaze pierces through the hanging branches of the tree, looking at the walls around the garden and the buildings beyond. Somewhere where no one could possibly interrupt them. “How about over there?”
Rangi follows her gaze and groans. “If we get caught, I’m restarting the Avatar cycle myself.”
Rangi and Kyoshi have reunited in the Fire Nation and find a place where they can be truly alone.

Summary
Everyone thinks they know the Avatar. And perhaps they do. They know the Avatar with armor and a painted face, however they don’t know what lies beneath that.
But Rangi does. Rangi knows Kyoshi, starting from being a temperamental teenager with a hopeless crush, to starting a life and family, Rangi knows Kyoshi better than anyone.

Summary
Four official years into her duty as the Avatar, and Kyoshi was far stronger than Rangi could ever hope to be. Not only in every other element, but her fire bending as well. It had all improved in dramatic leaps and bounds. Not without Rangi’s personal guidance, of course. But in all truth, no, Kyoshi didn’t need a bodyguard anymore.
“Oh, did we offend?” one of the men called after her. “We figured it was a place of honor for you, firebender. Being the Avatar’s wh–”
The man didn’t finish his sentence because Rangi’s fist collided with his jaw so hard the air around the impact steamed.

“You didn’t skip dinner again did you?”
“No, Auntie Mui brought me some dumplings.” Kyoshi swallowed thickly as she struggled to keep her eyes on her girlfriends face.
“Good,” Rangi walked around the desk slowly, tracing her finger along its polished surface.
“Because that means...” The firebender placed her hands on Kyoshi’s shoulders and swung her leg over to sit in the tall girl’s lap. Rangi leaned in, kissed the hinge of Kyoshi’s jaw, and dropped her voice down to a whisper. “...that you can have your dessert.”
