    Summary

We’d won. The adversary of the void had returned, and with the light of the stars we banished it back to whence it came. A victory brought about through a grand finale.

In the end, this life of ours was not a fairy tale. There was no ending. The adversary of the void was destroyed, and we returned to our lives. We enjoyed what we had. We mourned those that once were there. And we made peace with what was to come.

    I did. Everyone did.

They slathered me with titles. Savior. Archmage. The One Who Bears The Stars. None mattered. My name is all that mattered.

I was a mere student once. A failure. A mage with no spells. A mage whose spell would always end with catastrophic explosions. A failure. Zero.

And so I lived. I lived alone, in a mansion that was given, followed by ghosts of those who once was. I would live. I would grieve. And as my eyes closed with age, I would make peace and be fulfilled.

Ah. What a life it was. What a journey I had gone through. All I gained. All I lost. In the end, against the flow of time, they were nothing but mere footnotes in this Pilgrimage we call Life.

My name was Louise. And I was happy to have lived.

But I did not expect to return.

    Summary

It's just an ordinary day in Byleth's life. Maybe a little less so in Alear's.

    Until it isn't.

    * * *

A story about what might happen if Three Houses and Engage protagonists Byleth and Alear were to take each other's places at certain points of their personal stories.

I finally persuaded my humble collaborator that she deserves to be properly credited in this work, so better late than never! Even though the original rough idea was mine, and it was me who wrote this, she was a huge help with further ideas and many of the details throughout the fic. Thanks again to you, Monica_Edelfan1, it was fun doing this together! <3

    Summary

“You would not dare go that far,” Rhea rebukes.

“No?” Reaching out, Edelgard teasingly grabs Rhea by her chin. “Would you care to test that theory?”

Rhea looks so utterly demure in that position, and it sets Edelgard’s dominant heart aflutter. Like the shadow of their past, it makes her want to give into their natures, to ignore the boundaries she herself had set those years ago. But she wouldn’t, just as Rhea wouldn’t. They had resigned themselves to misery.

So she pulls her hand away, and Rhea’s hope seems to collapse with it.

“Do you enjoy the power you hold over me?” she asks bitterly.

“Yes,” Edelgard answers. “I love every second of it. And that is why this goes no further.”

    ---

In a post-war Fódlan ruled by Emperor Edelgard von Hresvelg, the continent has begun to heal after years of conflict. Edelgard strives towards the future while resenting the dominant nature to which she was born, all as Rhea remains stuck in the past with a lie she is scared to reveal.

For both women are haunted by an incident from the war, one that neither finds themselves able to let go of.

She tries until she breaks down, only to be saved by something she would have never thought she could like.

    Summary

For the longest time, she had been nothing. Less than a shadow, less than a wisp. But because she had been nothing, she wanted to own everything. Evelynn desired more and more- power and fame and increasing agony.

That was all the young Summoner was meant to be, the stepping stone to achieving her goals. After all, who could be foolish enough to expect affection from a being without a soul?
