A story about recovering from grief and heartbreak, and believing that life can be better.
"The sound of laughter echoes against the din of the clean steel, and there’s booze and good food between them. Carmy is in his fucking element, showing off as he giddily shares samples of newly thought up concoctions. There’s something in how different Carmy seems, the centre of attention, using his food as his love language, captivating the crowd around him. For a second, Richie sees Michael in Carmy’s place. A tear threatens to cut through the laughter, so Richie just laughs harder, bringing up the beer to his lips to wash that little grief back down."
