At some point the all-present fog had cleared up, revealing a dark sky interspersed with bright starlight. The frosty atmosphere around them was peppered in almost glowing specks of white, snowing down to rest lightly on their heads and coats.
Even if they ended up never seeing each other again, maybe this still counted as having walked side by side until both their heads turned white.
Adachi had been overjoyed when Kurosawa proposed. However, with every time his husband averted his eyes and every time he stayed up late with an untouched, cold dinner on the table, he felt reminded of the fact that their marriage wasn’t build on mutual love.
Just when he thought of finally letting go of his feelings to spare them both the inevitable fallout, his husband suddenly loses his memories in a car accident.Kurosawa wakes up in a hospital, not a single clear memory in his mind, a world of unfamiliarity making it hard to breathe. When Adachi clears the suffocating fog, he holds on to that light and knows that nothing will ever make him let go again.
(Set in an AU combining a few settings from Cherry Magic and Super Rich but you do not have to have read/watched any)
