    Summary

Demons rarely work well together, much less congregate in groups as large as theirs. There had to have been thirteen or fifteen of them. While none possessed great power or Blood Demon Art, their sheer size in numbers was enough to cause a grueling and long fight. Not to mention that they were all still exhausted from the full day of travel they just completed.

It was impossible to escape without scars, but it’s okay, Tanjiro thinks. His wounds aren’t that bad.

    Summary

Sabito died a long time ago. Giyuu knows that, but he can't help comparing him to Tanjiro. It gives him comfort, even through the constant grief he feels. When he closes his eyes, it's almost like Sabito is still here.

He's not though. And Giyuu can't quite bring himself to accept that.

Especially not when he sees Tanjiro's dead body.

The lack of arm.. the lack of pulse.. the lack of.. him.

It's wrong. It's not Tanjiro. And it's definitely not Sabito.

    Or:

After the fight with Muzan, Giyuu finds tanjiro, presumed dead, and tries to process the grief.

    Summary

Kamado Tanjiro was not a normal boy in the eyes of the town.

The villagers all said his sense of smell was a true gift, often helping out when kids were accused of something a stray animal did or smelling danger right before it could do any harm. The merchants always had a thing or two to say about the weird way the boy had paid them.

But their family knew him way better.

He is a son who stumbled after his father as soon as he learned to walk and tried to help him whenever he was sick. He is a brother who made sure his younger sister was never bored even when he was doing his daily chores.

And a boy who often talked with himself with only the trees to answer him.
