Summary

HUNTR/X is at the top of the world and Mira and Rumi have been well established in the fantastical community for years. They've thrown their lot in with a small coalition of idol groups from Seoul who act as wardens, keeping the world safe from evil fey, spirits, and minor deities, but Zoey knows nothing of Rumi and Mira's double lives until a group of malevolent tricksters make their way through the wards around Seoul at the same time that the magical energy starts finally showing its effects on her.

Rumi always understood what her purpose was. Her entire life revolved around protecting those she loved. The Honmoon and turning it gold, her girls, far before she ever knew them, the people of the world living their lives, and Celine, who raised her and held the Honmoon together until she was ready.
Rumi understood her patterns couldn’t be seen, that her shame and fears couldn’t be known. But, sometimes, she thinks her girls – the world even – would accept every part of her – that there was nothing to fear.
Reality always slapped her in the face. Not until the golden Honmoon. Once the golden Honmoon was in place everything would be fine. No more lies, no more secrets. She would finally be fixed, her duty complete.

It watches from the treeline, eyes glinting a primal, warning tone. It hasn't moved, not since Zoey spotted it, but Zoey gets the feeling thats intentional. Like it's daring her, waiting for her to make a decision and strike.
