After sharing their first kiss in front of the fire in the Gryffindor Common Room, Lily is keen to get the know the boy who is always on her mind these days. Unfortunately, she's already over a month into her summer, (dealing with grief of her late father & feeling abandoned by her sister), but James has yet to seek her out. When Lily learns why, she's the first to step up and be there for James to lean on, and solidify friendships with her other Gryffindor classmates reeling from the bad news that befalls them in the summer of 1977. The loyalty she has for her makeshift family marks her a true asset when Dumbledore finally comes recruiting.
