Summary
Harry walked through the Forbidden Forest, mind numb, still shaken by what he had seen in Snape’s memories. He stumbled over unseen roots and dips in the ground, but kept moving forward.
As he drew near, he folded the cloak under his shirt. Placed his wand up his sleeve and dropped the stone in his pocket, not being able to bring himself to let go of the scant comfort of his loved ones being near.
‘I was, it seems . . . mistaken,’ said Voldemort.
‘You weren’t.’

When Harry appears in the Limbo of Kings Cross, this time he is not alone. Voldemort appears with him, but it is the Voldemort Harry remembers from the Diary. Instead of a dead Dumbledore however, they are approached by a figure in black.
‘Ah, my boys,’ came a disembodied voice, cold and rasping across their senses. ‘Finally I have you both here before me.’
Harry stared at the black figure in front of him. He glanced at Tom and saw the fear in the boy. ‘You would be Lord Death then?’ he asked calmly. ‘Lovely to meet you finally.’

Remus and Lily both scoffed at the spell, stating it was highly improbable such a ritual could truly work, or, that such a place as the "soulspace" could truly exist without having been thoroughly researched by now. Mary, Marlene and Sirius were skeptical as well, but James was properly enthusiastic.
The catch was that the soul mate also had to use the spell in order for it to work— from any point in time or space. This, Remus scoffed, was a conveniently pitiful justification for a fruitless and phony incantation, seeing as how the scroll had been hidden for centuries and the chances of anyone else using it were close to none.
