Summary
Ever since the God of Control took over the world thanks to the Trickster of Chaos, doppelgangers have come into being; creatures that can mimic the form of humans with various levels of success. The older the doppelganger, the better their skin. In a fit of panic, mankind has closed itself off in its concrete buildings, establishing the D.D.D to protect the citizens, with the support of the S.E.E.R Network to guide humanity as it falls to ruin.
As the Seer's son within the Western Pacific, Goro Akechi has gone from Detective Prince and conqueror of the infamous Phantom Thieves, to the front desk manager of the Arc Building where the Seer and his Apprentice resides. He is the only thing keeping both Japan and the rest of the region from being totally overrun by doppelgangers.
Unfortunately, there's one that seems to know Akechi personally...

He'd considered going along to fight the shadow, but in the end it felt more personal to stand in an office so lavish it might as well have been empty and watch the man he hated disappear.)
