Since moving to Ba Sing Se, Zuko has been finding peace in places he had never even thought to look. For one, he has taken up star gazing. Here, in the city, the stars feel whole worlds away - still, each night, he thinks if he just reaches up, he might be able to touch.
He has a favourite rooftop. Of course he does.
One night, clad in black, his fingers freezing and stiff as he stretches out on the tiles, he opens his eyes to look up at the sky-
And finds a pair of familiar eyes looking back.
(OR: Sokka is way too trusting, probably, and Zuko should really rethink his morals... again. They're both addicted, both craving, and what can help if not a distraction, a little bit of pretending and an endless sky of stars?)

And then Ray clears his throat.
"I could... okay, feel free to say no," he begins, looking at his hands " but I could tutor you."
Mikey takes a moment to make sure he didn't hear that wrong, and then another to consider if he'd heard it at all. For a lack of things to say, he speaks the first thought he can muster from the mess in his brain.
"Aren't you a film major?"
"I did graduate high school, thank you." Ray scoffs in a friendly manner. "I'm perfectly qualified"
OR: Mikey's at the top of his math class, actually, but who can pass up an offer like that?

Gerard laughs, actually openly laughs at that. Jon tries to not think about how pleasant the sound is.
"W-what?" Gerard stutters out once his laugh dies down.
Jon shrugs.
"The weather. It's nice."
"Not really" Gerard gertures at the clouded sky.
Jon groans.
