Tony's had the worst summer of his life. Luckily it's over and he's back to enjoy his final year with his friends. He might even be brave enough to ask out his best friend and crush, Steve Rogers.
Only it seems that a few changes over the summer might make things difficult. And between Bucky Barnes making his life hell and Loki deciding they should be good friends, the worst summer of Tony's life might turn into the worst year of his life.

“This is the young man I was telling you about,” Khan says, turning to someone behind him. Tony can’t quite make them out yet. “The new professor you’ll be working with on the 380 to 740 class. He’s just come to us from MIT, very good reviews, and Dr. Jarvis speaks very highly of him too, I’m sure you’ll both do marvelously.” The other person steps out from behind the dean, and Tony’s breath catches in his throat. “Tony, this is—”
“Steve,” Tony breathes.
Steve Rogers, bearded now and just as beautiful as he’d been the day he left, looks back at him with wide blue eyes.

After a year-long sabbatical abroad, Tony returns to his post at the Department of Architecture at MIT in time to hear all the excitement over a hot new stud on Fury's faculty roster, a Dr. Steve Rogers. As a genius and the only MIT alumnus in the faculty, he's not used to being eclipsed by anyone, and he doesn't take it all that well.
