“Yeah?” Axel swallowed his bite of ice-cream and glanced over at Roxas.
“What are those marks on your face?” he asked, so innocently. No… innocent wasn’t the right word. He asked it as if he didn’t realize the invasiveness of the question. He very likely didn’t.
Axel felt his grip on his ice-cream tighten, threatening to snap the wooden stick in half. He took a quiet breath and forced his hands to relax. “They’re, uh,” he wondered how much he could lie and get away with it. He was becoming aware of the very alarming fact that Roxas was much more perceptive than he gave him credit for. “They’re just tattoos,” he settled.

Xion thought of when she looked through the mirror and saw the Neoshadow sneaking up behind Roxas. She shattered the glass and she picked up the pieces, forming them into something more portable, more convenient.
She clasped her hands and felt a weight drop into them.
When she unclasped her hands, three perfectly spherical crystals sat in her palms: one blue, one green, and one yellow.

She could feel it in every movement. She could feel herself split further and further with every breath she took. With every twitch of her fingers, every retch of her throat. She was shaking and she couldn't stop.
When she hugged herself all she felt was jagged and cold.
The worst part was that she couldn't see. Her vision was clouded and blurred. The few times it cleared everything was split into fractals like a kaleidoscope.

Roxas walked slowly along the walls, staring at the crude sketches haphazardly taped to them. A knot formed in his stomach at the idea of someone out there drawing him so much. He paused at a few - mostly at the ones that showed the dreams he barely even remembered himself.
But the one drawing made him freeze.
He stared at it and kept blinking, half hoping that when he opened his eyes again it would be gone. But it never went away and the knot in his stomach only grew heavier.
