Swallowing hard, Celes buried her face into the crook of Terra’s neck. The scent of stone fruits and lilies lingered there. She flooded her lungs with that aroma—with Terra—and attempted to ground herself.
This was real. This was their home. This was the future they chose, because no one remained from the Imperial days to command otherwise. Even if the latter was false... well, they fought against their oppressors once and lived to tell the tale.
Ten years after magic faded from the world, Celes and Terra still struggle to live a normal life, but at least they can support each other every step of the way.
