Goro leans back to play with a strand of Akira’s hair. He always seems to be so fascinated by the curls; it shouldn’t be as endearing as it is. “Ann mentioned Valentine’s Day is coming up,” Goro voices without preamble.
Akira blinks, a little caught off guard.
“Oh, she did?”
“Yesss.” Goro pins him with an accusatory look that holds a layer of sadness around the edges. “Why didn’t you inforrrm me?”
