He sucks in a breath because it’s all kinds of wrong for his partner to be so still. Danny is a constant motion and loud mouthed attitude not the exhausted line of his shoulders and resigned arch of his back.

I mean what this STEVE, what gives him the right to endanger you girls!!” Danny had been on the edge of his seat the whole car ride back, hands white from their death grip on the steering wheel. He’d tried, he really had, to not interrupt his precious little girl while she told him what she’d done at camp for the past month, but it was too much.
