Summary
Back from the War, Mister H. has returned a decorated veteran.
Blind, half-lamed, and an absolute terror to any help unfortunate enough to accept employment under his roof.
They arrive with a twinkle in their eye and leave in tears, their belongings half-spilling out of hastily packed luggage.Rose has seen most of New York’s promises and learned the cost behind each of them. Independent and stubbornly determined never to live on charity again, she finds herself still painfully far from affording admission to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, and further still from the life she intends to claim for herself.
Just as prospects begin to dwindle, an offer appears almost too generous to believe: thirty-five dollars a week to serve as personal help to a reclusive veteran in the countryside. The pay is too absurd to be real. But who is she to look a gift horse in the mouth?
After all… he cannot even see her.

Summary
Homelander is beaten to death on live television. The world watches him die...
Or at least, they think they do.
When Ashley Barrett watches this happen on her phone in the safety of the tunnels beneath the White House, she realizes she needs to see him with her own eyes. And when she does, everything falls apart.
---
This is a sort of fix-it for the series finale of The Boys. What if Homelander survived his encounter with Butcher? What if he were forced to live as a human with the horrific injuries inflicted upon him?
What if being beaten to near death on live TV turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to him?

Summary
Vought scientists built a kill-switch into Homelander with the most state-of-the-art brainwashing techniques ever seen. And the best part? He doesn't even know it. Unfortunately, the files with the activation code were lost over time, leaving an invincible killing machine unchecked and unleashing him on the world. Not even Stan Edgar has the ability to control him.
When Ashley Barrett stumbles across the folder while digitizing classified documents and certainly not snooping, she figures, 'what possible harm could a beige folder do to a god?' She writes it off as pseudoscience while at the same time memorizing the activation phrase 'just in case'.
She never expected to have to use it. Not until now.
