Summary
Kaveh goes on. Alhaitham probably isn’t even listening to a single word but Kaveh has been particularly proud of his work. It’s not the Palace of Alcazarzaray but it has the potential to even surpass it with some more work put in. The plot of land is optimal and gives him much room to work with. The client’s budget is also a dream for someone with visions like his. He may have to hire Liyue’s artisans but hopefully that won’t be an issue.
When Kaveh finally finishes, an hour has passed and Alhaitham has finished his food while some of Kaveh’s still remains. He turns to Alhaitham and finds him staring straight at him.
“Let me guess, you were waiting for me to finish so you can tell me you couldn’t care less.”
Alhaitham shrugs. “I was waiting, that part is true. But it’s because I want to ask you on a date.”

Alhaitham has never been one to beat around the bush but a frank confession like this is something Kaveh has never expected of the scribe, least of all a confession to him. It tilts his already-unstable world off its axis, leaving him to desperately figure out his footing lest he falls again. After all, he's not sure he can get back up this time.
