Without realizing, Noelle’s eyes lit up a little. “Really? I’m so glad… I always thought it’d be so cool to learn music.” Her hands were fidgeting. “Back when we were kids, I actually really wanted to try playing the violin, but Mom always said I needed to focus on school… We could have played duets together, maybe– ohh, maybe that one song for violin and orchestra by Saint-Saëns, because there is actually an arrangement for piano, or–”
Noelle cut herself off before she could get too far into her ramble, but to her surprise, Kris was wearing a small smile.

Bowser’s wife passed away shortly after their son was born. He’s managed to raise Junior for two years with Kamek’s help, but the stress of raising his kid, running a kingdom and bottling up his grief combined eventually got to him.
Kamek eventually told him that he needed a vacation. So Bowser decided to travel the world for a bit. Kamek and Junior would join Bowser on his travels.
On various stops, however, he would meet seven children without any parents. This is the story of how Bowser adopted the Koopalings.

Noelle was there, at the center of it all, so she only heard what it was like for everyone else in the days that followed. The smell of dust in the air. The way the shadows, cast by no light, started to squirm. The wave of nausea that rolled through the town, old wounds aching and scars unsealing themselves.
Then, the sound of the bunker door slamming shut.

Kris was eleven years old. A lot younger than his brother, Asriel. Yet, they seemed to understand a lot better than him what texting his girlfriend “I’m home alone ;)” implied.
Especially when she’d join him for a sleepover that night.
In a nice coincidence, Asriel’s face became redder than ever before at the same time that Dess started screaming into her pillow.
