Summary

I need other writers to take note. THIS is how you write an AU that's based on an existing story. The way the author blends PH with HG is brilliant and so clever. You can see where she draws inspiration from both stories while managing to make this story stand on its own. It's not just a lazy rewrite of inserting the PH characters into the HG storyline. Lauren isn't Katniss and Kieran isn't Peeta. They're still themselves while sharing attributes to characters from HG. Just so good!

Events take place following episode 158 - Seething Sword.
After her abduction, Lauren figured she knew what pain felt like. But when her desperate attempt to escape interferes with Kieran's rescue and she finds him in a cage next to her, she discovers what true torment is. Even if they escape, what will be left? Can they rectify the cost of their freedom between each other? Within themselves?
