Togame takes in a long, deep breath, then lets it out slow. His teeth show in a smile, and it’s so unlike the cruel things he flashed when they first met that it’s sets Sakura off balance. He can feel a bit of a blush rising to his cheeks at the sheer open warmth of that smile and those kind, mellow eyes. He’s not used to people looking at him like that, more familiar with sharp gazes and downturned mouths. Something in his chest prickles and squirms.
But, the words that Togame says next are much more comfortable.

As did family, he supposed.
