Elphaba waits for the laughter, signaling this was a joke. But it doesn't come.
"You're kidding," she says flatly. "I'll somehow end up with less money than I started with. They'll fine me for creating a public disturbance."
Galinda frowns. "I think it's a great idea."
Heart filled with shame, Elphaba shakes her head. "No one wants to kiss me."
"You don't know that's true," Galinda stresses, putting her notes down and grabbing Elphaba's hands meaningfully.

Definite re-read for sure! I love the way Elphaba and Fiyero share their first kiss, even though Glinda is sad that Fiyero broke up with her. She won’t be sharing her flirting tips any more lol.
