The cowboy shrugs, entirely unbothered. “Didn’t mean to spook you, darlin’. Just figured I’d see where the princess disappears to once the tea goes cold.”
Agatha’s eyebrows shoot up. “Princess?”
“Hard not to notice that little kingdom of yours” she says, taking a few slow steps forward, boots heavy on the gravel.
Agatha scoffs, somewhere between flattered and defensive. “That’s one way of putting it.”
