“I—I forgot my keys in the car; I’m not breaking in or anything.”
The stranger glanced at his t-shirt once again and smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “You’re the new neighbor I take it?”
“Y—yeah, I moved in today.” Leon wiped his hands on his pants. Why was he so sweaty? And he still hadn’t even asked her name. He offered her his hand and a shaky smile. “Leon Kennedy.”
Ada glanced at the hand and back at him with a detached smile, such a stark contrast with his. Leon could feel his bones trembling under the scrutiny of that pause, he’d never seen someone like that, even in New York. The indifference gave way to a flicker of amusement in a second, evident in the slight curve of her lips before she took his hand.
“Ada Wong,” she said calmly, not a hitch in her satin voice.

When Ada follows Luis into the troubled underbelly of the Salazar Castle, she is presented with a predicament. Her heart tells her not to involve herself with Leon, infected and still resentful. But circumstances require it. One decision can change everything, saving lives and loving far more than she had expected.
For Leon, Ada's presence brings nothing but turmoil. But as his past is stirred up before his eyes, she proves herself more of a valuable ally and confidant than he could have ever imagined. Maybe there is room for forgiveness.
As long as they don't die on this island first.

Basically a fix-it fic for RE4R, where Ada following Luis down into the caves changes the trajectory of the entire night and brings up more feelings than anyone expected.

“At least I know you’re lying right now!” He was shaking now, looking at her in a way which he hadn’t in a long long while as her expression flickered. Just slightly.
“Oh, fuck you.”
“No, Ada, fuck you!” His voice finally rose properly, failing to keep the lid on it. “You don’t get to stand there and act like I forced this on you when you kept coming back. Every. Single. Time.”
Or the one where Ada and Leon eventually figure it out but not before hurting each other in the process.
