Jackie sometimes enjoyed observing Shauna's attention when it was focused on something other than her, the slight furrow between her brows, the way her pen moved so quickly, the occasional micro-expression when she read something that surprised her. Shauna's face in motion was a different thing than Shauna's face at rest. Jackie had become, over the course of their friendship, something of an expert in the difference.
