Summary

“That was an emergency. Also, you’re not a stranger anymore.” Megumi blinks. “You’re Suguru.”
Suguru fights the urge to slam his head against the pole in the middle of the train carriage. Instead, he says: “Can I talk to your dad?”
Megumi loses his dad on the train, and finds a certain tall, raven-haired man instead.

Goosebumps prickle across Oikawa’s skin and he licks his lips, capturing the soft tissue between his teeth. He keeps tracing lines along his lower abdomen as though that might contain the hunger that burns through his stomach. His voice sounds breathless, even to his own ears. “What do you want to do to me, Hajime?”
The answer is a whisper of Oikawa’s name. A desperate sound. A plea. Iwaizumi’s breathing is irregular; silent yet impossibly loud. It’s so close that Oikawa can practically feel its warmth brushing against his cheek. He fosters it, pretends Iwaizumi is right there with him, mouth latched onto the side of Oikawa’s neck and palms gliding across his side and hips.

Steve throws a couple more words out to the void - ones that burn at Billy’s skin and they split his atoms at the seams. And they feel like fire, peeling back layers and layers of him - always too close to the sun. “Wish things could have worked out different, ya know?” Steve runs a nervous hand through his hair and Billy bites the inside of his own cheek to keep himself from snapping Steve’s wrist clean at the joint.
Yeah, Billy wishes things could have worked out differently too. Wishes a lot of things - doesn’t speak them out loud, doesn’t really want to bring them to fruition. Doesn’t really know what to do when something good comes his way. Better to just become one with disappointment - predators don’t always win the hunt. “Give it time - you’ll end up relapsing.”
Steve’s eyes turn icy - no fire from the sun in them. “Jesus, Billy,” he groans, can’t even hide the irritation. “You don’t always want it to be this hard, do you?”
Things can’t be harder – they simply can’t be. Things can’t be any harder than making it half way to the sun just for your wings to fucking melt.
