Summary
Shiro's been through warzones, but nothing can bring him to his knees quite like Keith.
The lack of response still grates on his nerves. Up since o dark thirty, he’s been run ragged between classes and meetings and office hours, only to be told that his entire group had decided to shift their meeting to later in the day without consulting him. It’s not fair to be annoyed. Keith doesn’t know any of this. Isn’t doing anything wrong.
But Shiro wants—in an aching, shameful, needy kind of way—to call Keith. To say, don’t you know how to say thank you? History supplies exactly how Keith’s breathing would falter and the sulky embarrassment of his mumbled thank you. After that, Shiro could step in and relieve Keith with a teasing knew you could do it. It wouldn’t matter, exactly, what they said after that. Because he’d know that Keith was willing to be good for him—to be soft and obedient and so fucking good. Just for him. Only for him. That’d be enough to ease some of the tightness in his chest.
With a frustrated grunt, he shoves his phone back into his pocket. In the end he’ll only ever take what Keith’s willing to give him.

Summary
Reincarnation is a tricky business.
Zuko’s working the closing shift on a rainy autumn day when she comes (back) into his life.
The first thing he notices is how she’s smiling. Plenty of people stumble into the Jasmine Dragon on days like this—caught out by the rain, with their mouths twisted resentfully. Not her. She stands at the till, and she’s smiling like this is exactly where she wanted to be when the heavens opened up and started dumping several tons of water.
One of her hands rests on the scarred wood of the counter. The other pushes back some of her sodden hair. Her eyes are an impossible shade of blue that reminds him of the Ember Island Sea. And she’s smiling at him.
There’s a kind of nostalgic ache in his ribcage. Zuko doesn’t know this girl. If he’d met her before, he’d remember. What he feels is almost like muscle or sense memory. Like the way he knows how to do his basic firebending katas or how he brews tea. This girl smiles at him, and he smiles back because he always smiles for her.

Summary
Getting with Shiro is worth anything. Anything. So Keith is going to fake being the cliche with daddy issues - complete with stuffed animals, booty shorts, and an utter loss of dignity - until he makes it. Hopefully along the way he'll figure out why it feels like being Shiro's baby boy might just be the best thing that’s ever happened to him.
Keith has a moment where he wonders, somewhat blankly, how he bought this perfectly serviceable shirt and then promptly forgot its existence. Then he looks down. And remembers in a series of post traumatic flashbacks exactly why he’d blocked the shirt from his consciousness.
Namely, three words, in a font that isn’t comic sans but comes insultingly close to it, garnished with red glitter: Daddy’s Little Boy.
“Keith?” Very slowly, he turns to look at the closed door to his bedroom. “Keith, are you okay? I heard…” Probably some kind of vaguely strangled noise. But Shiro’s too nice to articulate that kind of thing. “Keith? If you don’t answer, I’m coming in.”

Summary
Zuko goes into exile with a scar, a mission, and a wife.
The girl wears ill fitted ceremonial silks. She is too thin, with jutting bones and hollowed eyes. Dirt smudges her cheek. Her lower lip has a healing split in it. Gaudy as her finery is, she wears it like prisoner’s rags.
All of this Zuko registers in the time it takes him to reach the dais and bow. Every muscle aches with the remembrance of what happened the last time he knelt before Father. This time there is no begging, no roar of the crowd, no burning. Still—Zuko’s grateful to stand once more.
Slipping into soldier’s parade rest, he waits for what will come next, all too aware of the girl’s defiant body next to his.
“I am told that this is Katara of the Southern Water Tribe,” Father says, cruel amusement oiling his words. The phrasing makes the girl sound like a thing. “The last waterbender of their pathetic tribe.” Flames conceal all but his shadow, yet Zuko knows from long experience the exacting blade of his father’s smirk. The smirk he must surely wear now. Because he has built up his insult and now he lets it fall. “Your bride.”
