“You really are something else,” Wolfwood muttered. He leaned back, wiping his cheek with the back of his hand. He hated that he was crying.
Vash laughed quietly, “I could say the same to you.”
When Vash and Wolfwood were left in the quiet night that often happens on No Man's Land, Wolfwood began to cry. Everything was a heavy burden on his back. Vash offered himself up as an anchor, and Wolfwood accepted the gift, not without tribulations and ultimatums to share. When Vash snaps back, everything escalates until they're showing and feeling each other's love in place of the things they cannot bring themselves to say.

But Vash never seemed to mind, never seemed to shy away from him. Unafraid and unflinching, like there wasn’t blood caked on Wolfwood’s palms, like he hasn’t taken countless lives with the same hands that tremble when they touch him.
