It was breathing down her neck. She didn’t dare to look behind her. If she wanted to escape with her life she couldn’t afford to lose even a few seconds.
Right at the mouth of the alley, just as she was about to run out onto the main road, someone walked in front of her. She had just enough time to recognise the fluffy hair and pink jumper, but not enough to stop her own momentum.
