Summary

What starts as a simple reassurance, an idea of ways Neil can keep himself alive under the pressures and threats of the Moriyamas, morphs into a more complex scheme that ends the way I always wanted Neil's story to end: with true freedom.

Andrew was Neil’s best friend in the whole world. When his usual friend-date canceled on him, he knew Andrew would be the perfect person to keep him company at his track team's banquet. What started as one friend-date spiraled into several dates and an entire fake relationship, which Neil was 100% sure was the most convincing fake relationship that ever existed. All he had to do was not tell Andrew that he was actually in love with him the whole time. Easy enough, right?

Summary
Neil Josten has everything he could have ever wanted: a permanent name, a job, a cat, and a favorite treadmill at the local gym. His life is good now that he's safe, albeit a bit boring. When a competitive stranger keeps challenging Neil to race him at the gym, Neil thinks it will be good training experience and maybe the start of a friendship. What he doesn't expect to get from the experience is the attention of his competitor's friend, a sarcastic asshole with arms that could crush a watermelon like a grape. Neil doesn't know what to make of these guys, but he knows he looks forward to his gym days a little more than usual.
